My Life Hereafter by Stephen Simpson is a Young Adult horror novel, which follows a teenage girl named Sunel after a fatal bus accident.

Awakening in a sterile, industrial afterlife, Sunel and sixty classmates are processed through a reception area where they are divided into two distinct groups.

While the troublemakers are sent to a mysterious forest, Sunel’s group is taken to the G.A. Academy, a school designed to rehabilitate souls into Guardian Angels.

Despite being selected for this greater purpose, Sunel struggles with intense guilt and remorse, eventually recalling that her own reckless prank with a balloon caused the crash.

Driven by these unresolved feelings and a budding connection with a boy named Mark, she decides to break the academy's rules.
