A Day in My Writing Life: Drafting with Coffee and Creative Chaos
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! This is where I share the messy, coffee-fueled behind-the-scenes of my writing life.
Most mornings, I start with the same ritual: a steaming mug of coffee, my notebook open, and the hopeful idea that today will be the day the words flow like magic.
But if I’m honest? Writing is rarely that tidy.
Between story ideas fighting for attention and the constant pull of marketing tasks (social posts, emails, making sure my books are discoverable), my writing desk feels more like organized chaos than a serene creative space. Marketing is a hungry beast—it eats into the quiet hours I want to spend in my fictional worlds.
That’s actually one of the big reasons I started posting chapters weekly in my memberships. It keeps me accountable. When I know readers are waiting for the next part, I have to hit my word goals.
Right now, I’m juggling three works-in-progress (because apparently, one story at a time isn’t enough for me 🙈):
-
The Girl Nobody Remembers (Stephen Simpson)
-
Catching Feelings (Rosaline Saul)
-
A Soul in Time (Lynette Ferreira)
I wish I could write and publish these faster. I see the characters and their journeys so clearly in my head—but the actual process of getting words on the page… that takes time. And honestly? Canva graphics for marketing often end up taking precedence.
But here’s the truth: this messy, coffee-fueled chaos is part of my creative heartbeat. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine, and sharing pieces of it with you keeps me moving forward—toward the next finished book, the next published story, and the next adventure we get to share together.
Thank you for being here, reading along, and cheering me on. You keep me writing, even on the days when marketing tries to take over.
Until the next chapter,
💛 Lynette / Rosaline / Stephen
